The Romeoville Red White Sox squeezed out a narrow victory over Romeoville Black Sox April 15
The Red White Sox held on for a 10-9 victory over the Black Sox in a competitive match up on Tuesday. Red got on the board scoring 5 runs in the top of the first inning thanks to a single from Andre, a double from Braedyn, and a double from Landon. Black Sox were hot at the plate, running up 7 runs in the bottom of the first, thanks in part to a triple from Noah.
Red tied the game in the second with a single to center field in the top of the second. A steal of home by Isaac brought the Black Sox back into the lead in the bottom of the second.
In the sixth inning, a double from Andrei, a single from Colton, and a single from Carson allowed Red to capture the lead.
Colton started for Red, surrendering nine hits and eight runs over four innings, striking out seven and walking four. Angel started on the mound for Black, surrendering four hits and five runs over one inning, striking out two and walking 3.
A flyout to Landon in left field and two strike outs from Red’s closer, Andrei, allowed Romeoville Red to take home a win.
Both teams racked up 9 hits. Red struck out 14 times, walked 13 times, and had 7 RBIs. Black struck out 12 times, collected 6 walks, and had 6 RBIs.
